AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — At Qlispe Raceway Park, a youth drag racing initiative gives children a structured, hands-on introduction to automotive mechanics and racing every Sunday.
Operated by the Inland Empire Youth Drag Racing Program, the series is open to youngsters ages 5 through 18. Participants learn to build and repair vehicles and pick up basic engineering and mechanical skills.
Races are held in a supervised, controlled setting with strict safety protocols. Helmets are mandatory, rules are enforced, and some events include adult passengers to help guide younger drivers.
The program meets each Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and is available to anyone who provides a signed consent form.
