Event Details
The annual Albert Lea Community Kite Festival returns on Saturday, August 23, running from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Edgewater Park in Albert Lea, Minnesota. This year’s theme is “Let Inclusion Fly.”
Festival Highlights
Presented in partnership with Great American Kites & Events, the festival will showcase some of the largest kites flown in North America. The event is family-focused and offers a full day of activities.
Activities and Amenities
Attendees can enjoy free face painting, a dunk tank, and balloon twisting. Kites will be available for purchase on site, and a selection of food vendors will sell snacks and meals.
Viewing Tips
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs to view the kite displays from the field. The celebration is weather-dependent, and pets and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
Charitable Cause
All proceeds from the festival will support the All Together Albert Lea Inclusive Playground & Miracle Field, a project designed to ensure children throughout Albert Lea and nearby communities have access to an accessible, inclusive play space.
