Asheville singer-songwriter Alexa Rose will release Atmosphere on October 31 via First City Artists.

Once hailed by NPR as “the soul child of Bob Dylan and Dolly Parton,” Rose returns with a record that sits between Alison Krauss’s shimmering falsetto and the otherworldly edge of Adrianne Lenker. Lyrically, Atmosphere examines how joy and grief, terror and hope, and weight and lightness coexist in everyday life.
Lead Single and Inspiration
FLOOD Magazine premiered the lead single, “Where The Magic Lives,” calling it “full of wonder.” The track searches for a rare kind of presence that modern life often crowds out. Rose says the song grew from moments when she should have been enjoying an experience but felt detached, and from memories of growing up before smartphones shortened curiosity into instant answers.
