North Dakota Secures Impressive 4-0 Win Over Eastern Washington
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — North Dakota extended its perfect start to the 2025 season with a commanding 4-0 victory over Eastern Washington at Bronson Field on Friday.
Key Players and Scoring Highlights
Charlie Basinet delivered a standout performance, opening the scoring in the 16th minute to give UND an early lead. Jessica Machovec added an unassisted goal in the 34th minute and then set up Basinet three minutes later to send the Fighting Hawks into halftime with a 3-0 advantage.
Basinet capped the rout in the 70th minute, completing her first career hat trick on a play finished from passes by Brynn Belcher and Alisha Maake. The three goals bring Basinet’s season total to five.
Defensive Strength and Goalkeeping
Sophomore goalkeeper Grace Miller and the UND defense preserved the shutout, with Miller stopping all five shots on target for her second clean sheet of the year. Eastern Washington finished with 19 total attempts but could not convert, including a missed penalty in the 76th minute.
