BIRMINGHAM, Ala.
Birmingham Legion FC announced Saturday it has signed goalkeeper Trevor McMullen to a contract, subject to league and federation approval. McMullen is eligible for selection ahead of Birmingham’s upcoming match against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
Background and Experience
A Decatur, Georgia native, McMullen arrives after a stint with Casey Comets FC in State League 2 South Australia. He has also spent time on trial with Atlanta United 2 of MLS NEXT Pro and with South Georgia Tormenta FC of USL League One.
College Career
McMullen was a four-year starter at Mercer University from 2021–2024. In 66 appearances he recorded 223 saves and 21 shutouts while helping the Bears capture two Southern Conference championships.
Achievements and Records
Individually, he holds the Southern Conference record for Defensive Player of the Week honors with six selections. He was twice named to the All-Southern Conference Team, and his 1.08 goals-against average ranks second in Mercer history.
