Investigation Underway in Bridgeport Shooting
Chicago police are searching for a suspect after a 31-year-old woman was killed in an attempted robbery near Palmisano Park in the Bridgeport neighborhood over the weekend.
Details of the Incident
Authorities identified the victim as Gabriela Ochoa. Police say the shooting occurred about 8:40 p.m. Saturday near 27th and Peoria streets. A man in a dark-colored sedan fired at Ochoa while he and others attempted to take her belongings, officials said.
Ochoa was struck in the chest and transported to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where she was later pronounced dead.

Neighbors described a chaotic scene. One resident said a Ring camera captured the victim screaming. Another said a family member who was walking a dog saw gunfire and fled the area.
