Charli XCX stuns in strapless black gown at Berlinale premiere of The Moment

Charli XCX turned heads at the Berlin premiere of The Moment during the 76th Berlinale International Film Festival.

The 33-year-old British pop star arrived at the Zoopalast for the film’s debut, which is a 2026 American mockumentary directed by Aidan Zamiri. Zamiri co-wrote the project with Bertie Brandes, based on an original idea by Charli.

The Moment’s ensemble includes Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell and Alexander Skarsgård, alongside Charli in a leading role.

For the red carpet, she chose a strapless black satin gown that married Old Hollywood polish with a contemporary edge. The glossy fabric hugged her silhouette before flowing into a draped skirt, and a daring thigh-high split punctuated each step.

The structured, straight-across bodice emphasized Charli’s shoulders and collarbone, while soft gathers at the waist added movement to the otherwise pared-back design. She kept embellishment minimal, proving a precise cut can be the focal point.

Accessories were restrained and refined: pointed black stilettos and a pair of layered diamond necklaces, including a delicate choker that caught the camera flashes. Her hair fell

in glossy, center-parted waves and her makeup leaned on bronzed, sculpted features with a muted nude lip.

Against the Berlinale’s bold blue backdrop, her monochrome look read as confident and composed—no theatrics, just a clear personal aesthetic.

The premiere comes as Charli continues to broaden her creative reach. After rising from hyperpop underground to mainstream success with hits such as Boom Clap and 1999, she has increasingly explored experimental sounds and on-screen work.

She has appeared in film and television and is scheduled for further acting projects in 2026. Reflecting on that path in August 2025, she told Variety she felt “very, very inspired” by acting and wanted to pursue work that energized her.

Her presence at the Berlinale underlines how she is blurring the lines between music, film and fashion as her career evolves.
