Igor Dodon, leader of Moldova’s Socialist Party, has publicly charged the ruling PAS party with attempts to steal votes during Sunday’s parliamentary elections. Dodon made the allegation amid counting and post-vote tensions.
The vote was held against a fraught backdrop, with many citizens split between closer ties to the EU and a pivot toward Russia. Observers say the outcome could determine whether the country, which borders Ukraine, maintains its pro-European trajectory or moves closer to Moscow.
