Introduction to Doe Paoro's New Album
Singer-songwriter and sound healer Doe Paoro, the stage name of Sonia Kreitzer, returns with her first full-length record in seven years. Living Through Collapse is due September 19, and today she released its luminous new single and video, “The Language of Past Lives.”
About the Single and Its Meaning
The song is a tender, sorrowful meditation on Kreitzer’s own miscarriage, wrapped in warm harmonies and rich guitar textures. Kreitzer says the track addresses both birth and dying and seeks a kind of acceptance when medical answers are unavailable. She adds that miscarriage is often spoken about little, and that giving voice to that experience felt important.
The Music Video
The video captures a live performance filmed on the Tapantí River in Costa Rica, where Kreitzer performs alongside guitarist Amor Reluciente. The intimate footage underscores the song’s raw emotional center.
