Oil Shipments Suspended Following Attack on Druzhba Pipeline
Oil shipments from Russia to Hungary and Slovakia were suspended after an attack on a key facility on the Druzhba pipeline, Reuters reported. Officials warned the outage could last at least five days.
Ukrainian Military Strike on Critical Infrastructure
Ukraine’s military said it struck the Unecha oil pumping station in Russia’s Bryansk region, a critical node in the Soviet-era Druzhba network that carries crude from Russia and Kazakhstan to Europe.
Ukrainian forces employed missiles and drones in the operation. A regional Russian governor reported a fire at the site that was quickly brought under control.
This interruption is the second in a week, after deliveries were suspended earlier following strikes on Monday and Tuesday.

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán described the incident as a serious threat to national energy security and called it “a very unfortunate move.” He also posted on social media a letter allegedly containing critical remarks from former U.S. President Donald Trump about the situation.
