FKA Twigs Commands Paris Runway in Towering Goth-Industrial Platforms

FKA Twigs made a striking entrance at Matières Fécales’ spring 2026 presentation, stepping out in towering black platform boots with squared vamps and dramatically raised block heels.

The look leaned heavily into industrial goth. Crimson shredded trousers cascaded over the boots in strips, while a fitted black top and an oversized jacket layered the outfit without softening the strong silhouette below the knee.

Twigs has become a reliable collaborator for Matières Fécales’ footwear. Weeks earlier she wore the label’s Christian Louboutin collaboration platforms, unveiled as part of the brand’s fall 2025 debut. At a VMAs after-party she pushed the aesthetic further in distressed Windowsen thigh-highs on an almost eight-inch heel.

Designers Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran filled Place Vendôme with roses and layered tulle, intending to highlight the “prettiness” they feel is often overlooked in their Gothic-leaning work. Dalton told WWD’s Joëlle Diderich that many people perceive their community as harsh or scary, and this show was meant to counter that view.

Yet the collection kept its extremes. Shredded tweeds, sculpted hourglass tailoring and Stephen Jones’ dramatic

hats maintained the sense of theater. Even Christian Louboutin’s fetishistic footwear proved challenging for some models walking on the marble-set runway.

Bhaskaran described staging the show in Paris’s most exclusive square as a reclamation. He said that in certain environments, people like them aren’t always welcome, so turning that resistance into something beautiful was part of the point.

Against that ornate backdrop, Twigs’ platforms read as both a personal statement and a brand echo — a goth-industrial punctuation that balanced fragility with defiance. For one of fashion’s most experimental performers, extreme platforms remain an unmistakably natural choice.
