Fort Walton Beach Offers Citizens' Academy Programs This Fall
Residents have two new chances this fall to go behind the scenes of their local government and law enforcement. The City of Fort Walton Beach and the Fort Walton Beach Police Department are now accepting applications for separate Citizens’ Academy programs.
City of Fort Walton Beach Citizens’ Academy
The City’s Citizens’ Academy runs five weeks, meeting Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning October 8 and concluding November 5. Each session spotlights a different city department and gives participants direct access to department heads and staff to learn how municipal services operate day to day.
Attendance for all five classes is encouraged. The program is open only to adult residents of Fort Walton Beach. Applications must be submitted by September 24, 2025. Interested residents should contact Public Information Officer Devon Ravine with their name, phone number and address.
