Columbus City Council Approves Land Sale in Burns Bottom
Friendly City Development has agreed to purchase slightly more than 18 acres of the Burns Bottom parcel for $800,000, city officials confirmed during the August 19 Columbus City Council meeting.

The Columbus Redevelopment Authority announced the sale but will retain legal ownership of the land until contracted dirt work and electrical infrastructure are finished, a requirement tied to grant funding used for those improvements.

The Burns Bottom area has been the focus of a redevelopment effort for about eight years. Friendly City Development has been involved with planning the project for roughly 15 months.

Nic Parish, CEO of The Burns Group, said he is eager to invest in the neighborhood and appreciates the chance to help create nearby amenities his family will use, including parks and housing.
