Presented by the Vermont Book Shop, New Yorker cartoonist and illustrator Harry Bliss will appear in conversation with writer Sue Halpern on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The free program takes place in the Anderson Studio at Town Hall Theater, 72 Merchants Row, Middlebury; doors open at 5:30 p.m.
About Harry Bliss
Bliss, a longtime contributor to The New Yorker, has illustrated more than 25 children’s books since 1999 and produced thousands of cartoons. His single-panel strip Bliss runs in over 100 newspapers worldwide. Bliss’s collaborations with Doreen Cronin — including Diary of a Worm, Diary of a Spider and Diary of a Fly — were adapted into the animated series The Bug Diaries, now streaming on Amazon. His joint project with Steve Martin, A Wealth of Pigeons, reached No. 1 on The New York Times bestseller list.
