Holliday Eagles Enter New Season as Region's Strong Contenders
HOLLIDAY, Texas — The Holliday Eagles enter the new season as one of the region’s strongest programs after winning the District 6-3A Division II title and advancing deep into the postseason before bowing out to the Gunter Tigers.
Team Focus and Coaching Philosophy
Coach Kyle Atwood stressed the team’s focus on steady improvement, saying the players must control what they can — from practice to the weight room and the film session — and continue to get better every day.
Quarterback Transition and Offensive Challenges
Holliday will begin the campaign without quarterback Hunter Jones, who has moved on to play at Midwestern State University. Jones powered a pass-heavy offense last year that ran many RPO concepts; he threw for more than 3,000 yards and 54 touchdowns while multiple receivers eclipsed 800 yards.
Replacing that production is the top priority on offense, but the Eagles aim to maintain the momentum they built in 2024.
