Dr. Ibrahim Abdul Re-elected as President of Nigeria Weightlifting Federation

Dr. Ibrahim Abdul has been re-elected president of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF) after a peaceful elective congress at the Gymnasium Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. He was returned unopposed, receiving 12 votes, and begins a second four-year term leading the federation.

Election Highlights and Leadership Changes

Stakeholders applauded the orderly conduct of the polls, calling the process a model for other national sports bodies. The election produced other changes in leadership: Lawrence Iquaiborn won the vice-presidency, defeating Innocent Nwakwo by eight votes to four, while Sefia Onubaye was chosen as the technical representative with a decisive 30–4 margin over Mr. Christopher.
