Idaho's Unemployment Rate Slightly Increases in July
BOISE — The Idaho Department of Labor reported a slight uptick in the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, which rose from 3.6% in June to 3.7% in July.
Labor Force Changes
The state’s labor force contracted by 451 people, and the labor force participation rate fell 0.2 percentage points to 63.2%.
Employment and Unemployment Figures
Total employment declined by 643 workers, a 0.1% drop, bringing the number of employed Idahoans to 973,241. Unemployment increased by 192 people, or 0.5%, to 36,892.
Industries with Employment Gains
Several industries posted employment gains in July, including administrative and support and waste management services; construction; transportation, warehousing and utilities; arts, entertainment and recreation; private educational services; and nondurable goods manufacturing.
Comparison with Previous Year
