Jessica Simpson emerges with dramatic prosthetic makeover for All’s Fair role

Jessica Simpson looks markedly different in the new Hulu drama All’s Fair, appearing to have undergone an extensive prosthetic makeover for her role in Ryan Murphy’s series.

On screen the singer-turned-actress shows plumper lips, pronounced cheek contours and sharply lifted brows as part of the character’s transformed appearance. The show premiered on Tuesday.

Her character reveals a troubled marriage in the series, noting that after nearly three years together she knew her husband had been unfaithful and ultimately agreed to have plastic surgery when he demanded it.

Simpson said the physical transformation required a lengthy process, telling Entertainment Tonight she endured around eight hours of makeup and prosthetics each day. She described the work as intense while adding she enjoyed the experience and embraced playing someone far removed from herself.

She shares the cast with Kim Kardashian, whom Simpson said lives nearby and whose children are friends with hers. Simpson called working with Kardashian natural and fun, joking that Kardashian handled the legal scenes while she contributed the more emotional moments.

Hulu describes All’s Fair as a legal drama centered on a

team of ambitious, complex women who juggle courtroom battles, personal scandals and shifting alliances as money and romance complicate their lives.

Critical reaction has been harsh so far; Rotten Tomatoes has given the series a 0% score, and some viewers have labelled it among the worst television offerings they’ve seen.

Off screen, Simpson recently marked eight years of sobriety in a candid Instagram post. She said that choosing to confront and let go of self-sabotaging behaviour allowed her to pursue her faith and life goals more clearly, adding that surrender rather than struggle brought her strength.

The 45-year-old—who has announced her separation from Eric Johnson—also told People that sobriety has influenced her songwriting. She reflected that when she began writing music in 2016, alcohol led her into self-pity and false courage, a pattern she has since left behind.
