A Man in the Woods With an Axe is a found-footage meta slasher that intentionally presents itself as one thing on the surface before revealing itself to be a very different animal once the layers are peeled back. It’s a bloody love letter to 1980s horror cinema, blending practical gore, slasher mayhem, and dark comedy. Tonally, it sits somewhere between Friday the 13th and The Truman Show thrown into a blender, with comedic elements reminiscent of Tucker & Dale vs. Evil and a wild, escalating second half that channels the energy and unpredictability of The Cabin in the Woods.
