Knox, IN — The Knox City Council will hold its regular session on Tuesday, September 9, at Knox City Hall, 101 West Washington Street.
The meeting starts at 5:00 p.m. Central Time, with claims available for council review beginning at 4:45 p.m.
A public hearing on the proposed 2026 budget is scheduled during the session. Residents are encouraged to attend and offer input. The council plans to consider final adoption of the budget on September 23 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time.
Councilors will review two Plan Commission recommendations. One is a favorable recommendation for a 700-square-foot, two-story residential structure within the city’s two-mile jurisdiction. The other is an unfavorable recommendation concerning the allowance of chickens and rabbits inside city limits and the two-mile jurisdiction.
Officials will also discuss a request to install a stop sign on the McGill side of the intersection at Washington and McGill Streets.
Updates will be provided from the SCEDF president and vice-president, the clerk-treasurer, and the mayor.
After any vouchers are signed, the council will adjourn. The meeting is open to the public.
