Netflix Announces Sing-Along Edition of KPop Demon Hunters
Netflix will release the sing-along edition of KPop Demon Hunters on Monday, the streamer confirmed.
Successful Theatrical Engagement
The special version followed a one-weekend theatrical engagement that drew more than 1,300 sold-out screenings across the U.S. and Canada. The film led the U.S. box office over the Aug. 22–24 weekend, earning an estimated $18 million to $20 million.
Cast and Creative Team Surprises
Cast and creative team members surprised audiences at various screenings in New York and Los Angeles. Appearances included voice actors Arden Cho, May Hong and Ken Jeong, singers Rei Ami and Kevin Woo, directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, and producer Michelle L.M. Wong.
Empire State Building Illumination
In a celebratory nod to the film’s success, the Empire State Building was illuminated in gold through a collaboration between Netflix and the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE), with support from iHeartMedia.
