McDonald's President Joe Erlinger Backs Policy to Keep Tips Tax-Free

Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, reaffirmed the company’s support for a policy that would prevent tips from being taxed. Addressing recent reports, Erlinger said the company has been clear on its stance and pushed back against misinformation that surfaced over the past 72 to 96 hours. “We support keeping tips tax-free,” he stated. He added that McDonald’s generally favors measures that help its restaurant teams. “Anything that benefits our restaurant team members is, in my view, sound public policy,” Erlinger said.
