The band revealed the news in a teaser video shared on August 14, with their mascot Vic Rattlehead delivering the announcement. The as-yet-untitled seventeenth album will cap a 40-year career.

Pre-orders are expected to open in roughly 43 days, and the group says a lead single will arrive later this year. Dates and further information about the global farewell tour, planned for next year, will be shared in the coming months.
