WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Midwestern State University has finished a comprehensive $50 million renovation of Bolin Hall, the campus’s primary science building.
Originally constructed in the 1960s, Bolin Hall underwent a full-scale modernization that concluded in 2025. The project aimed to bring teaching and research facilities up to contemporary standards.
Funding for the overhaul came from a combination of private donors and government grants. Upgrades include new lecture halls, updated classrooms, expanded conference rooms and enhanced technology infrastructure throughout the building.
Dr. Robert Brennan, dean of the McCoy College of Science, Mathematics and Engineering, said renovating the space was essential to foster learning and collaboration. He added that the redesigned areas are brighter, more welcoming and better suited to current instructional needs.
Faculty endured months of temporary relocations—working from improvised offices in residence halls and using scattered classroom space across campus. Brennan noted that those who have moved back are complimentary of the offices, research facilities and teaching spaces.
