Memorial Ceremony at New Hope High School
NEW HOPE, Miss. — New Hope High School held a morning memorial marked by a balloon release to honor two students who recently lost their lives.
Community Gathering
Family, classmates, school staff and neighbors gathered on campus to remember 19-year-old Jamerrious Gillespie and 15-year-old Major Long. Youth pastors from around the area offered words of faith and comfort during the ceremony.
Details of the Tragedies
Gillespie died in a UTV accident in June. Long was killed by a gunshot wound in August, and law enforcement continues to investigate his death, asking the public for information that could aid the inquiry.
