Nick Cave and Bryce Dessner Collaborate for 'Train Dreams' Soundtrack
Nick Cave and composer Bryce Dessner have teamed up to create an original song for Clint Bentley’s upcoming film Train Dreams, an adaptation of Denis Johnson’s 2011 novella.
Details of the Track and Release
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the track — titled “Train Dreams” — plays over the film’s end credits. Dessner co-wrote and co-produced the piece, with additional production by Luis Almau. The song will be included on the movie’s official soundtrack, which is due for release on November 7, the same day the film opens.
How the Collaboration Began
Bentley told the Hollywood Reporter that Cave became involved after seeing the movie at its Sundance debut in January. Although Cave initially worried his touring schedule might prevent him from contributing, the filmmaker said the screening prompted him to write quickly.
