Twins' Rehab Starts at Minnesota’s Triple-A Saints
Minnesota’s Triple-A Saints will host a pair of big-league rehab starts Thursday as the Twins inch closer to returning several injured starters.
Pablo López's Rehab Schedule
Pablo López is scheduled to make his first rehab start for St. Paul after being sidelined since June 3 with a Grade 2 teres major strain. The team plans to limit him to three innings or 45 pitches in this outing, with a likely next step of roughly four innings or a 60-pitch cap if the first start goes well.
“Now it’s about building workload and ensuring his pitches and comfort level are where they need to be,” Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta said.
Simeon Woods Richardson and Others
Following López, Simeon Woods Richardson will make his second rehab appearance and is slated for about four innings. Woods Richardson, who has recovered from a recent parasite-related issue, threw two scoreless innings with four strikeouts in his first rehab outing last Friday.
Paparesta added that once rehab outings are complete, returning the pitchers will be a baseball decision rather than a medical one.
