University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Announces New Athletic Department Appointments
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown has filled two key positions within its athletics department, naming Mike Wehler as assistant athletic director for compliance and student‑athlete services and appointing Anthony Dean‑Neil as head coach for men’s and women’s cross country and track and field.
Department Highlights and Recent Changes
Athletic Director Abby Gearhart highlighted a year of significant transition for Pitt‑Johnstown athletics, including the community’s loss of longtime figure Pat Pecora. She noted the department also expanded its offerings by adding women’s wrestling and both men’s and women’s swimming — the first new sports since softball was introduced in 2015.
Hiring Process and Leadership Goals
