Utah families now have expanded mental health support as Intermountain Children’s Health formally opened the Primary Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health Center in Taylorsville on Friday.
The new 90,000-square-foot facility will serve children and teens ages 5 to 18. Its construction was enabled by a $25 million investment from the State of Utah plus charitable contributions to Primary Promise.
Range of Services
The center offers a broad range of care: inpatient treatment, outpatient clinics, group therapy programs and a 24/7 walk-in crisis center. A Ronald McDonald Family Room on site gives parents a place to rest and stay close while their child receives care.
Community and Leadership Remarks
“Today is about showing up for kids in our communities to say, ‘We hear you, we’re here to take care of your mental health needs,’” said Amanda Choudhary, president of the Primary Children’s Hospital Taylorsville campus.
