Moscow — Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will use their meeting in Alaska on Friday to discuss the vast, unrealized potential for Russia-U.S. economic cooperation and the chances for ending the war in Ukraine.
Ushakov told reporters the summit is scheduled to start at 1930 GMT. He said the two leaders would hold a private, one-on-one session attended only by interpreters.
Following that initial meeting, wider delegations from both countries are expected to convene for talks. The presidents will then appear together for a joint news conference.
