RailRiders Secure Victory Over Indianapolis Indians

A six-run outburst in the bottom of the third propelled the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders to a 7-5 victory over the Indianapolis Indians Sunday at PNC Field, allowing the RailRiders to split the six-game set.

Team Standings and Recent Results

The win improved Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to 70-47 overall and 32-13 in the International League’s second half, putting them a game ahead of Syracuse for first place. The Mets fell to Rochester, 9-4, on Sunday.

Bryan De La Cruz opened the scoring in the second with a triple and later crossed on a Jeimer Candelario sacrifice fly to make it 1-0.

Indianapolis answered in the third when Nick Solak delivered a two-run double to put the Indians ahead, 2-1. The RailRiders then erupted for six runs in their half of the inning.

Omar Martinez and Jorbit Vivas started the rally with singles. One batter later, T.J. Rumfield crushed a 1-0 pitch from Drake Fellows for a three-run homer, his 15th of the year, giving Scranton/Wilkes-Barre a 4-2 lead.
