ASHEVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Red Oak Recovery announced today that its Foothills Campus in Ellenboro, N.C., will convert to a residential treatment facility exclusively for adult men beginning in October.
The change is part of a broader reorganization of Red Oak’s western North Carolina services to better meet regional needs for gender-specific residential care.
“Red Oak has long been recognized for its expertise treating adults with substance use disorders,” said Mick Masterson, CEO of Red Oak Recovery. “Expanding our Foothills campus into a men’s residential program gives more men access to the focused care they need to begin sustainable recovery.”
Nationally, nearly 20% of men face substance use disorders, according to the National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics. In North Carolina, the Department of Health and Human Services estimates that 15.16% of adults aged 26 and older meet criteria for a substance use disorder in a given year.
The decision responds to growing demand for high-quality residential beds for men. By repurposing the Ellenboro campus, Red Oak aims to increase timely access to inpatient services at a critical point in recovery.
