Sakashita Captures Individual Medal; Hatters Finish Fourth at Magnolia Collegiate Invitational

MOBILE, Ala. — March 17, 2026 — Isaki Sakashita closed with the low round of the week to earn individual medalist honors as Stetson posted a fourth-place team finish at the Magnolia Collegiate Invitational at RTJ Magnolia Grove.

The Hatters finished the 14-team event at 40-over-par, carding a 14-over final round to secure fourth place. Stetson moved up from fifth after round one, then climbed into fourth following a strong second round that produced the tournament’s second-lowest team score.

Sakashita led the way throughout, recording rounds of 74 and 73 before delivering a 2-under 70 on Tuesday — the tournament’s lowest score — for a three-round total of 217 (74-73-70). The junior posted identical 35s on each nine and converted nine birdies across the event.

Her victory is Sakashita’s first of the season after back-to-back runner-up finishes in Stetson’s two previous outings. Her steady play kept the Hatters in contention across all three rounds.

Filippa Jansson provided another strong showing, tying for eighth at 10-over-par with a 226 (75-74-77). Ailsa Brannock tied for 27th at 231 (78-75-78), while Julieta Oviedo improved after an opening 81 to finish tied for 35th at 233

(81-75-77).

Freshman Maggie Potash competed as an individual and tied for 52nd at 237 (78-76-83). Anna Huettl rounded out the Stetson lineup in a tie for 64th at 241 (78-84-78).

As a team, Stetson recorded 27 birdies and 162 pars over three rounds. Sakashita and Jansson each tied for fourth in the field with 36 pars, underscoring the squad’s consistency.

The Hatters will travel to Bermuda next for the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate, hosted by Lehigh at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton on March 30-31.
