Midday Smash-and-Grab in Seattle
Aug. 16, 2025 — A brazen midday smash-and-grab in Seattle netted roughly $2 million in diamonds, luxury watches, gold and other valuables, police said Friday.
Details of the Incident
Surveillance video shows four masked people breaking the store’s locked glass front door with hammers before forcing open and looting six display cases. Authorities estimate the entire incident lasted about 90 seconds.
Valuables Stolen
Investigators said one display contained approximately $750,000 in Rolex watches and another held an emerald necklace appraised at $125,000. During the robbery, a masked suspect threatened employees with what officers described as bear spray and a Taser; no one was injured.
Ongoing Investigation
Seattle police said there have been no arrests and that the investigation is ongoing. Officials are reviewing the footage and seeking tips from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
