Market Street Sewer Replacement Project Suspended
MIFFLINBURG — Work on the Market Street Sewer Replacement Project has been suspended after crews discovered a mismatch in pipe dimensions, officials said.
Project Details and Current Status
Project Manager Rob Rowe informed borough council at Tuesday night’s meeting that the $88,909 contract covering the 900 block of Market Street will be put on hold while the issue is addressed. The excavation at the intersection of Market Street and Route 104 will be filled in temporarily until crews can obtain the correct materials or a solution is finalized.
Next Steps and Future Updates
Rowe told council members the pause is necessary to prevent further complications and added that work will resume once the sizing discrepancy is resolved. Borough officials did not announce a revised completion date at the meeting.
The borough will provide updates as the contractor and project team determine the next steps and secure the appropriate pipe components.
