Road-Rage Shooting in Jones County
JONES COUNTY, Miss. — Two people were injured and taken to Forrest General Hospital following a road‑rage shooting late Sunday afternoon in Jones County.
Incident Begins Inside Ellisville
Ellisville Police Investigator Kyle Pickett said the incident began inside Ellisville when a pickup truck reportedly pulled out in front of a group of motorcyclists, prompting them to pass the vehicle and an argument to erupt.
Chase and Shooting Escalation
The dispute escalated into a pursuit that continued beyond the Ellisville city limits. When a motorcycle carrying a man and a woman entered the driveway at Howard Technology Park, the pickup reportedly followed.
Shots Fired and Injuries
At least one shot was fired at that location, wounding both riders, Pickett said. Their medical condition has not been released.
Investigation Ongoing
Police said the suspected shooter has been identified and officers are working to obtain an arrest warrant. The investigation remains active.
