The Dean of the School of Dentistry at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu, has called on alumni to deepen their commitment to the school’s development as a form of giving back to society.

Professor Ize-Iyamu delivered the charge while opening the 14th Annual Scientific Conference and 10th lecture series and alumni reunion, held under the theme, “Oral Health in Africa: The State of Affairs, Emerging Trends and Future Prospects.”

She commended Professor Christopher Okunseri of Marquette University, USA, for his consistent support to UNIBEN and the School of Dentistry over the years.
Highlighting the vital role alumni play, the dean urged former students to collaborate with the school on needs assessments and to sponsor strategic projects that will enhance facilities, teaching, training and mentorship as part of their corporate social responsibility.
