SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Clouds will dominate much of Utah Wednesday afternoon as a slow-moving system influences the region.
Expect rounds of valley rain over the next 12–24 hours, with localized totals near 0.25 to 0.50 inches in spots. Showers will pass in waves, and a few isolated thunderstorms remain possible across northern valley areas.
Mountain snowfall will continue, especially across the north. Northern ranges could see 6 to 12 inches, while central and southern mountains are more likely to receive 2 to 6 inches. The Wasatch Plateau and Book Cliffs may also pick up 6 to 12 inches.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect through Thursday for the Wasatch Mountains, Western Uintas, Southern Mountains, and the Wasatch Plateau/Book Cliffs.
The system lingers into Thursday, keeping the chance for scattered valley rain showers and snow showers above roughly 6,500 feet. Daytime highs will warm into the 40s and 50s across northern Utah, and into the 50s and 60s for central and southern areas for Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
