Walt Weiss has officially taken over as manager of the Atlanta Braves, succeeding long-serving skipper Brian Snitker. The change marks a rare, respectful handoff within an organization known for stability and continuity.
Weiss emphasized from the outset that his appointment is intended to preserve, not replace, Snitker’s legacy. He credited eight years working under Snitker for shaping his approach to leadership and clubhouse culture.
The transition comes after Snitker’s nearly five-decade association with the Braves, a journey that began in 1977 and now moves into an advisory role in 2026. His tenure at the major league helm included six consecutive division titles and the franchise’s 2021 World Series crown.
