Yakima gas prices jump to $4.64 after week-over-week increase, AAA data shows

Stacker analyzed AAA fuel data to track recent changes in gas costs across the Yakima, WA metro area. As of March 16, the average price for regular gasoline in Yakima stood at $4.64, below the Washington statewide average of $4.92.

Prices in Yakima rose by $0.34 over the past week, an increase of 7.8%. Compared with this time last year, regular gas is up $0.90, a 24.0% rise.

The highest recorded regular gasoline price in the area was $5.40 on June 15, 2022.

Diesel also moved higher. The current diesel price is $5.71, a weekly gain of $0.42 (8.0%) and a year-over-year increase of $1.48 (35.0%). The local diesel peak was $6.35 on July 1, 2022.

Metro areas with the least expensive regular gasoline include Springfield, MO ($3.03), Le Flore–Sequoyah, OK ($3.04), and Fort Smith (AR only), AR ($3.05).

By contrast, the most costly metro areas for regular gas are concentrated in California. The top five priciest markets are: Napa ($5.71), San Rafael ($5.70), San Francisco ($5.69), Santa Rosa ($5.68), and San Luis Obispo–Atascadero–Paso Robles ($5.65).
